Accessibility statement
Access to justice means access for everyone. We build this site to be usable by people of all abilities.
Atlanta Legal Aid Society is committed to ensuring that this website is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is core to our mission — the people we serve must be able to reach us regardless of how they use the web.
Our commitments
- Conformance target of WCAG 2.2 Level AA across every page.
- Full keyboard operability, visible focus indicators, and a skip-to-content link.
- Color contrast that meets AA, with no reliance on color alone to convey meaning.
- Semantic headings, landmarks, and descriptive link text for screen-reader users.
- Responsive layouts with touch targets sized for mobile use.
Built in, not bolted on
Accessibility is engineered into the site itself rather than added through a third-party overlay widget. Every page is checked against automated accessibility testing (axe-core) and reviewed for keyboard and screen-reader use.
